Let's say your a Middle aged dad who daily drives a mint condition AP2 Honda S2000. Let's say you recently had a career change, which causes you to now go to the office later in the morning, and now every other day you get to drive your son and two other kids to school while fulfilling your duty in the neighborhood carpool.
Unfortunately, you can't use the wife's SUV, as she just so happened to also have a career change, and she just so happens to leave earlier now.

You sell the S2000 for $25k, and you still want something fun. What do you go for?

How does a twin turbo straight six wagon sound? Oh , you want three pedals? Well good thing this BMW 535xi has 3 pedals. It comes in at $24, 978, which is a little high but the rarity makes it worth it to me. Oh, and you can mod it to over 400HP in just a days work. Plus, it can sound like this:

Let's say is going to become a regular thing, I find it fun to see what all of you guys come up with

Yes I know it's over budget but it's also RWD. RWD straight six wagon with a manual. Worth $5k extra.

I've been looking at this exact car on and off whenever I'm on the computer for the past month. It's perfect. There aren't any other words to describe it.

Trust me, it's been on my radar too. There's less than 50 MT BMW wagons on Cars.com and Autotrader. It's on the wrong coast for me, but that's gonna make the enthusiast that buys it very happy. It's the perfect combo. 6MT + Sport package + LCI + updated idrive.

E90 Wagon FTW! I'd love to add one to my garage alongside my toy (reference the LMB beauty above)

I think I would go with the E61 for the N54 and Performance Exhaust sound, or this Audi S6.

I'm a single early 30s guy with no kids and I seriously considered getting a manual transmission 535xi wagon. But I gave up on it because of rear air suspension problems, and panoramic sunroof leaks that tend to drain directly into where some expensive computer control black boxes are located.

I'd say go for it, sunroof problem is easily fixed and if you have a nice enough SA at your dealership they'll do it for free. I didn't hear too much about the rear air suspension, but that does seen like a deal breaker if it's a big problem.

I'd try to see if I could get a 335is exhaust to fit. It's a little more subtle than the PE and cost half as much.

But V10... That would be an awesome DD

Well, this was before I ended up with a 135is and Grand Cherokee. They cover the bases pretty well. ;)

Just talking about the air suspension, there were two things that made it a deal breaker for me:

I like a firm suspension setup. Even with the sport package, xDrive equipped BMWs don't get the sport suspension option. Well, the normal cars at least. The crossovers get a former suspension with the sport pack. So the stock setup was softer than I prefer, and with the rear air suspension there's no easy upgrade path. You can tweak the controller to change the ride height but that's pretty much it.

Anecdotal evidence of somewhat frequent failure in the air compressor and other assorted stuff related to the air suspension, none of which is particularly cheap to fix or replace.

Dodge Charger, easily could handle 3 kids and how can you say no to this American muscle? Plus you can get one for about 17 grand or less
